Brother Lukash's Log

6-August-09

I took some pictures of figures I've completed over the last few years.  Hopefully Bob can stick them in my Gallery.  The water elemental is used in our CnC campaign.  It is a Reaper figure sculpted by Sandra Garrity.  The Treeman is a Reaper figure sculpted by Werner Klocke.  It comes from their Warlord range of figures.  The game sucks.  The skeleton is also a Reaper figure sculpted by Ed Pugh.  The demon is a Reaper figure sculpted by Bob Olley.  The picture really doesn't do it justice.  Finally, the big Death guy is a Reaper figure sculpted by Bobby Jackson.  Thanks for looking.  I've posted the picture of the water elemental because I was speaking about it a few blogs ago.

Reaper Water Elemental

4-August-09

After weeks of working on my house, playing Blood Bowl on my PC, and beta-testing Champions On-line, I finally sat down and finished the Animated Weapons I had been working on before my hiatus.  These are Magnificent Ego figures.  A more talented painter could make these look really nice, but I rushed through them so they could be used in our Castles and Crusades campaign.  Just kidding!  I just didn't want to waste a lot of time on something like this.

29-May-09

The water elemental turned out okay.  I'll post a picture soon.  I found a big container of static grass at HobbyTown for $10 and applied some of the static grass to the base.

I drug out some of the new GW skeletons I had purchased used from Dragon's Lair.  They are unassembled.  While trying to assemble one I quickly became annoyed with how fiddly they are.  Plastic models are cheap, but hard to work with.  I think I'm going to focus on metal models as much as possible from now on.

I compared my Red Box Games druid to a Reaper druid.  Both models represent the same guy for the most part and were created by the same sculptor.  The RBG figures is a head shorter and much less robust than the Reaper figure.  Strange.

Carl's Log

7/21/10

I finished another 24 25mm Prussian Musketeer Battalion.

7/15/10

I guess I didn't return to the Spanish SYW Cav.

I finished 24 25mm SYW Prussian Musketeers to take to Steve's.  Eventually I will have a Prussian Infantry Brigade.

I did order today the 4 Russian 25mm Dragoon Regiments for the Great Northern War Project.  After they are painted, a big "after".  I need to save up for 16 pieces of 25 mm Artillery, which sells at $12 to $16 per figure from Front Rank.  I need to save my pennies.

6/15/10

Using the white undercoat with dye colors method I painted 15mm Napoleonic French Guard for the Age of Eagles game.

30 Old Guard Grenadiers and 30 old Guard Chausseurs.

I will return to the Spanish SYW figs by working on the Cavalry.

6/14/10

I finally finished 8 12 man 15mm Spanish Infantry Battalions.  It took 7 months to find time to finish them.

I have gotten slow.

12/10/09

I started to paint the Spanish army for the Seven Years War.  Will I ever be done with the Sport of Kings Project?

12/6/09

I finished 16 25mm American Revolution figs for Redelfs.  At present, I do not have any painting orders to fill.  I must move on to the mountain of unpainted lead I own.  The horror, the horror.

11/27/09

I finished 12 American Revolution Ragged Regular Infantry for Mike Redelfs.

9/20/09

I finish 12 German Infantry figures for the American War of Independence.  I painted them for Mike Redelfs.

9/8/09

I finished 3 25mm Great Northern War Russian Mtd Generals for the Cav Brigades I don't have yet.

8/30/09

I finished 40 25mm Great Northern War Russian Artillerists

8/29/09

I finished 11 more Lord of the Rings Orcs.

8/23/09

I finished 12 Lord of the Rings orcs.  (yes, I know they are not Historical)  I did it for pay.  I am such a tool.

8/4/09

I finished 12 Canadian Militia for the Battle of Fallen timbers.  I finished the Project.  I will continue to look for a Mounted Mad Anthony Wayne figure.  A yahoo group suggests using a 25mm British Rev War General but I have yet found a company that sells a generic figure.

7/31/09  I finished 4 25mm Eastern Woodland Indians to represent the Leaders for the Battle of Fallen Timbers.  I have enough Indians for four commands of 2 groups of 10 Indians.   I am finishing 12 Canadian Militiamen, which are 12 Redoubt FIW Coureurs de Bois figures.

7/29/09

I finished another 40 25mm Eastern Woodland Indians for the Skirmish game of the Battle of Fallen Timbers.

7/23/09

I finished 40 25mm Eastern Woodland Indians for the Battle of Fallen Timbers Skirmish game.

7/17/09

I finished 50 6mm French Light Infantry and 8 Austrian Dragoons.  All for the Wagram Project.

7/5/09

I finished 26 15mm Successor Phalagites for the Successor game.

7/1/09

I finished in 15mm 8 Athenian Hoplites and 4 Greek Peltast for the Successor game.  They will either be part of the three Grecian Minor armies or Mercenary pieces.

Brother Bob's Painting Log

2009-06-02 - I've been painting a bit.

I painted up a GW LoTR ranger dude for a friends RPG character for my CnC campaign.

I finished some 8 HYW Perry Spearmen (for my WFB3ed Brets) a GW musician and Foundry banner bearer. I also finished a GW Brettonnian mounted squire.

I assembled a reapre dragon being ridden by an elf-chick that I got awhile back as a prize in a painting contest. It will be a pain to paint... I'm going to put together an Elf army for WFB3ed and this will be a 300+ point chunk of that army.
